The household emergency info sheet
One page that tells anyone in your home what to do and who to call.
A babysitter, a house-sitter or a family member home alone should be able to handle an emergency without searching. One page on the fridge does it.
What goes on it
- Your address and nearest cross street (for 911 calls)
- Where the water shutoff, electrical panel and gas shutoff are
- Utility emergency numbers
- Two trusted neighbors or family contacts
- Your plumber, electrician and HVAC company
- Pet information and vet number
- The household meeting spot outside
Keep it safe
Don't put alarm codes, account numbers or Social Security numbers on a sheet that hangs in view.
General household organization information, not legal, tax or financial advice.
